This day is just plain crappy! I came back from the barn to find pipes frozen, no water to the toilet or kitchen sink..... So I go out to put my trusty little heater under the house to find out some one has stolen my extension cord! Off to town now to but another extension cord.......

When I was growing up, we were living in a pre-civil war two story cabin that had been made into a proper house by adding additions. In order to get to the second story a narrow, steep stair case was built on one end of the house. So, any time a piece of furniture had to be gotten up stairs, it had to be hoisted up to the porch roof and put through the window of the front window. In order to get the furniture through the window, the entire window had to come out frame and ALL. It was quite a production for a young child to watch. All the guys involved would use all kinds of words my Momma didn't want us to hear!!!

I bet, it's amazing, those older homes just weren't meant for the furniture of today. In my childhood I lived in 2 farmhouses that were moved by horses & logs to the spot it resides. They were joined together to create one house. As kids we loved being able to have 2 staircases to race each other up. You only had a problem if you forgot to duck your head going thru the 4 foot joiner door. Ouch... can't tell you the number of times I took off the top of my head on that short doorway, lol. We also used the second stairway as a slide. If mom & dad were out we would have races between my sisters & brothers on who could get up the first set of step first, grab a couch cushion and shoot to the bottom of the second set on stsirs. First one to the bottom with a cushion was the winner. I'm amazed any of us are alive today, lol

We used to launch ourselves out of the hay loft when it was empty! Just take off running and JUMP! Yep, it is a wonder we lived through childhood, too.

sorry about your hen Enola, I bet you have lived an interesting life. I hurt myself today an neer bout froze to death. slipped on something outside . I know know how to do the splits. LOL I hurt all over. hip, leg shoulder. foot. I couldnt get up. luck for me my SIL was shoveling out front and heard my distress calls. or should i call them screams of pure terror ? He had me wrap my arms around his neck and he pulled me up like that. LOL I have pulled my shoulder out by him pulling me up that way. I would of layed there for a long time. thats what i get for teasing this morning.

That's why I feel so bad. Remember me gloating about beinng warm on the couch with 2 lap warmers. I know the cold weather had something to do with it. She had corn in her crop, i just don't know for sure what happened. I will do a necropsy as soon as I get the darn pipes thawed. I will need water to wash up agterwards.

Regarding my life being interesting...... I don't know, I have made several mistakes that someone in their right mind would not have made. I try not to mull on it too much.

Adding eggs today won't upset anything, just make sure they are room temperature!

Instead of cold, right? Warm is ok?

It this house it would be a big deal. I hate to wash the stove.
