Sounds like you and your's are surviving the latest round of winter weather - your sanity may be another story, lol. Can't be easy being cooped up with all the little ones under foot and going stir crazy. Hopefully you have stayed inside as well where it is safe to avoid another tumble.
Had to laugh today, made the trip to town and back in 2 wheel dive and not a problem to be had - only to get home and get stuck turning in the driveway.....really??? Just glad I got myself out of it without having to resort to asking DH for help - not so much that he would have minded, but I am hard pressed to admit I need help, even from him.
LOL, right? It hurts to ask someone for help. so my SIL decided he was going out yesterday, full sized van rear wheel drive. hahahaa after watching him do his best to shovel the gravel drive. (that i told him not to) he thought he had it made. for 3 hrs. ! hahahaa he gunned it and rocked it and turned it sideways. still not asking for help. so after i got tired of watching that i called my friend over with a chain and 4 wheel drive. . well, he hooked him up, pulled him out , 3 times. I am hysterical at this point, i cant stop. So i holler out , hay friend ! why dont you get in that thing and show him how to drive ? Maybe if you tie these mattress up on top it will give you more traction? so my friend gets out of his durango, gets in the van and drives it to the top of the road. At this point Tom is yelling at me to get my butt in the house before i fall again. (I was just on the porch) frankly i think i am embarrassing him. Sil gets in his van to make a hasty retreat and guess what? he is still stuck !

I cant take anymore at this point. my yard is tore up , my feet are cold, and my stomach hurts. so SIL is gone (probably for good) he didnt come home last night. my friend comes strutting up to the porch like hes the man and BAM ! down he goes . landed right on his butt. I cant take this stuff no more.

Is he back yet?

I do not drive if it is snowing at all. Not because I am afraid of driving in the snow, in VA or WV you have to learn to drive in the snow. But, I relocated to SC, and most people here don't know how to drive on snow. Put them in a 4 wheel drive, and they even think they can drive on ice!

no he is not back. hahaa he did call and guess who answered the phone. I said nope, she is still sleeping. I will tell her you called. LOL
And he lived in SD for a couple yrs.

Hey granny girl, its pretty quiet on your front. Betcha your out running and helping the kids get settled. Hope your getting healed up from you spill. Are you done with the winter storm there? Bet SIL won't be repeating the getting stuck numerous times in the driveway if he can help it, lol... I'm sure that hurt his pride. I hate needing someone to help me and men are even more prideful. Gotta get back to my jobs, talk to you soon

Well we need to pray you get better digs.

At least if the pipes burst they'll be his problem.

My DD and hers just moved in. They had a crap landlord too. Lets hope the new one is better.

If you have some snow I'd pile it up over the cardboard. Here in NY we have renters rights. I would still put some "Stuff" in the space where the sheathing doesn't meet the house or at least some newspaper or other insulation.

newspaper and cardboard will work but are both serious fire hazard's. Especially in an older place. Just my 2 cents worth. BE CAREFULL

My uncle always said the only difference between 2 and 4 wheel drive is about 100 feet deeper in what ever you are stuck in and then the need for a tractor to pull you out.

Good Morning all;

Back from vet little beth is now 12.4 lbs Noel the little pig is 14.6. Vet made no comment about Beth being black and grey instead of white sigh the joys of wet newsprint. On the bright side at least I know she isn't afraid of water. LOL

Got the one room's carpet installed and then reloaded and made up rented it out 15 minutes latter. Got the other room (total remodel) finished Sunday about 2 and rented before the evening was done. Have another room scheduled to start tues and then court on weds. Also had a birday dinner for a friend on Satuday evening, Meatloaf , mashed potatoes, corn, 6 types of pickles (4 being homemade) and Apple crisp for desert. Total of 6 people don't think any had eaten for 3 days. Started with 6 lbs of hamburger plus the eggs, oatmeal, onions, celery, and spices and over 5 pounds of mashed popatoes, 3 cans of corn. Just enough leftovers for 1 sm lunch/dinner for nephew and I. Eggs sales are good. Weather is cold and very very windy been around the single digits or teens for about 4 days. Everyone stay safe and if you have ice or compacted snow put on gold shoes with the spikes on the bottom helps with the slipping and sliding. or football cleats might work also. TTFN
