Lisa, I feel like i have asked this already but what is your avatar ?  I have a hen that looks just like that. I have no clue what she is but she is very big !  Bigger then my orphs and alstrops. and she is still young/ not done growing yet.  I am thinking JG mix maybe

Mine is a blue Cochin, easter egger mix is what the person I got her from said. She lays a pretty green egg when she isn't locked up in the broody breaker cage

hahaha I have 4 like that right now. One tore my hand UP today. Remember the apple spitter that i got in spring ? she was an egg eater. now she is broody.

Mine has very dark legs, no feathers.

Sounds like it probably has some easter egger in it. Them darn egg eaters, I have been experiencing the same. I think it might be some of my new layers or one of the ones that is just about ready to lay and they are practicing. I have a couple of hens that don't seem to eat enough oyster shell. Their shells are thinner and I think they are accidently getting broken in the nest box.

Are they new layers ? I bet. I have 3 eggs a day I feed to the cats because they are cracked on the end. nails i was thinking . they are new layers.

My BIL had a heart attack Sunday morning..It's not the first one..his mom and dad  both died at a young age from  the same thing..they put 2 more stints in  and got rid of  two blot clots..He kept telling the doc  who all he wanted to have his organs..doc  told sis he has no faith in me lol..he was in icu 2 days then to a room   doing good  comes home today..

Danna, glad to hear that your BIL is doing good and able to come home.
