Ouch, that's rough, do you have to do dialysis or just on meds? Know the guinea pig feeling back from two decades ago when my thyroid gland became overactive, at that time they were doing the 'nuke it' job, being in the bowels of Auckland Hospital with people in NBC suits, yikes!! concrete cup, glass straw, they were trying to kick the gland back into action but hey ho they got the math wrong, and no can't sue in this country without express permission of the High Court, different system here for those types of things. These days they do an operation to cut the gland out, some reckon it would be better to have it nuked, still meds keep me up and running.I was born with what I guess you could say, Abbynormal kidneys. LOL The adrenal glands are attached to the top of them and mine have a "coating" over them causing them to not function right. It effects almost or all of the hormones in your body. When I was first diagnosed there were no drs. that knew much about it. I was their guinea pig for many yrs.
I used to be a chair. Now I'm more like a recliner.![]()
I commend you for your efforts. Unfortunately if something needs done then someone has to stand up and start doing it.
Prednisone that depletes your bone mass I think, I take prednisone when I get a chest infection, haven't had one for two years. I'm on Levothyroxine which has been giving me some difficulties lately, Doc upped the dose but we have been finding out about natural thyroid from Bovine and or pigs, my Doc isn't anti it but just waiting to do another blood test next week to see if my bloods and all that T cell stuff is behaving itself.I had my thyroid nuked once . dont really know why. I have lumps on it now though.. The meds I have to take for that is steroids. Prednisone .
