You know they will be. Just tie a piece of burlap around a doz. eggs and charge $6. I havent seen anything for $1.lb. for many years. grocery had a lb. of bologna for $5. bout had a heart attack right in the wal-mart.

newfie, what is sunchokes ? I am trying with a tiny orchard. 2apple,2 peach, 3 pear,a few cherry . not going far with them though.

Sunchokes are Jerusalem artichokes. They are not artichokes and not from Jerusalem either. Lol. A perennial tuber related to sunflowers. Gets over 8 feet tall. You dig the tubers like potatoes but they are smaller and lumpy. Eat raw in a salad and it tastes like a water chestnut. Or cook like potatoes or put in with a roast. They are good for diabetics.

thats a new one on me. I like chestnuts. How did you get a start of them ? are they perennial ? ahh, maybe they dont grow here. I would love to have nothing but paths ! I had it in my head but I wore out before I could even get half way .

I gave quail to the special needs kid of the produce manager of the market. This was in the 70s. Any time we went to the store he gave us samples of all kinds of things & told me how to pick ripe ones. The chokes were one of them. You should be able to grow them in your zone. You only need to plant them once because when you dig them you never get em all and they will start from little pieces. You replant when you harvest and it's a permanent bed. I can add a few when I send your buns.

I would Love a start of sunchokes. full sun ? good drainage ,bad ? do they have a sunflower bloom ? I will research them.
