Granny, I hope you don't mind. I'm going to hijack your thread for a brief moment to ask all of you to say some prayers for my Missy girl. (cat) She was attacked by the resident tom cat and I'm hoping she will make it through the night. She is 15 and I raised her from a bottle. She was at the vet all day getting fluids and antibiotics. She is home now and is pitifully sick. Barely breathing. On a heating pad and I have to keep poking her to confirm she is still alive. Please pray she will make it through. Thanks everyone !

From what I've read, it's most likely a hatchery Australorp. Dark legs, but the soles will be white, wattles not as long as a Minorca, and overall shape is heavier too (dual purpose). Someone said that young Austarlorps often have mostly white earlobes that gradually change to red as they mature. Australorp breed was developed with Minorca, so it's not surprising. I think hatchery or cross because it was on the loose, not a super valuable bird. I loved my Australorp hen. She was sweet and calm, no drama.

Wow. Such excitement at 5 am. Heart hurt last night. More morphine and sleeping pills. I slept really good till I had to pee. My bottom blood pressure # was low so I took it easy. Read on BYC a bit and sat up for a little. Dangled my legs over the side to make sure I wasn't dizzy. Everything good till I stood up. LOUD alarm starts going off. I thought I was going to pee myself right then and there. 3 nurses came rushing in with their eyes bulging. Bed alarm. I told them I wish they would have warned me. I almost had a heart attack. I told them they were lucky it didn't scare the crap out of me. Lol

Wishing, thanks for the info on the rooster, I didnt check the bottom of the feet but Im sure you must be right. I still cant figure how it got to the middle of town though. No chickens allowed over there.

I'm still here waiting on results from the MRI on my clogged neck arteries (over 85% in 2011 & then lost insurance). I had chest pain that woke me up. Nitro didn't help. Had a shot of morphine and slept all night till I got up and set off that stupid alarm. My heart beats faster just thinking about it. Lol

Tippy I hope your poor kitty gets well. I just lost my 22 year old flame point siamese Sunshine short time ago. Sounds like it would be safer for you to have an inside cat.
