Say Enola what breed of rabbits and were they for meat production.  We have been kicking around that idea of raising a few rabbits for meat.   I realize that the words few and rabbits don't really go together.    Sort of like military and intelligence.   or Honest and Politician. 

New Zealand Whites and Californians. A guy came by every other week and picked up all of my bunnies that weighed over 4 pounds. $1.50 a pound live weight. I loved raising rabbits!

I total agree homemade canned/from scratch is the BESTEST!!!!! and I think probably the healthiest. Oat oh byc has discovered I am on line and pulling their usual crap.

is canned jelly only good for a year and what should i do with 25 pints of 3 yr old jelly. tempted to toss the jars. tomatoes too. they are last year they just taste bad.

unless the lid is popped what ever is homecanned should be fine for basically forever. Except maybe meat products. You can always give the "bad" tomatoes to the chickens or hide it in a hotdish.

I personally have jelly that over 8 years old and still good as the day I made it. I found blackberry jello so thinking I'll have to make some more Italian squash jelly.
