Hey sis, you ever do fermented feed ? would that be something for me ?

O have 4 more roos that qualify for the job but he was my favorite. 15 of baby chicks in the brooder. All that have died had protrudions at hatch. What causes that granny? Protruding at but end red and swollen.

wish i could spell it. I will try oomphalitis ? thats bad. look up bacteria on the eggs, mushy navel the only other thing would be too much humidity. sorry for your loss. nothing you could of done for them. dirty eggs

you will need to sterilize your incubator . after you do all you can to clean it let it be in the sun for a few hrs. . that also sterilizes the parts you cant. when you get eggs make sure they are clean. not washed but not coated in poo. keep shavings in your nest box to help or even roll a way nest box. you can wash them , there are ways but i dont know the exact steps. and make sure you candle on day 7 . you waited didnt you ? take out the bad ones because they can spread it too.

I tried ff and I found it to be a pain in the butt. LOL Too much for me. I have too much to do around here than to baby sit fermenting feed.

But I hear it is great for the birds...much better than plain feed.

You have to have all these buckets with one day, two day and three day old feed. Stir it, smell it, watch it,

I don't have the patients for it.

mm, sounds almost like cooking. if i dont do that for family i probably wont do it for chickens.. be nice to save some money though...

How is your chicken ? Millie ? i think. what you said about impacted crops was pretty neat. new one on me. makes sense though.

wishing, was it you that said i had pretty good memory? read an artical today about dementia and how having a large social network of friends can deminish symptoms by 60 % !
