I agree but the sad thing is , I am one of those moms. well, used to be any way..

You get a pass for special circumstances. Since I was a teacher, I saw the way the wind was blowing. I'm much tougher on my guys, and it's like swimming up stream all the time. I could go on about the lack of respect for teachers and authority, it's just given away by the adults. Oh call me Gary. Mr. Jones is my dad's name.

Well Gary, you are not my children's friend, you are a 60 year old man, and despite your hippie youth, you will be addressed with the respect due an adult by my children. Ooo, there's so much more, but I will stop now. Feel like a fish out of water most of the time.

Don't stress, is really no big deal, especially since they still don't really have the inner snd outer lane marked. ....pretty much watch for a hole, get in, g o to your out and take it.....traffic is pretty light every time I've used it

I am in the process of teaching my GS to even hold a door for his elders. they havent been taught a thing !

My mom thinks I'm too hard on DD. Ahe bought a bunch of little toys for DD for when she does well in school. But I don't want to reward her for doing well, because I expect her to do well. Just like I try to stay away from offering treats when she feels sad. It's important to learn to work through her feelings, not treat them with a bandaid.

DD is 6 and at the craft fair she wanted a doll. It was $3. So we decided she will work it off. She has to walk to the neighbor's house to feed and play with her dog, because the neighbor is on vacation. She thinks it's the best job ever.

10 yr. old GS decided to teach me his spelling words. said I could use the extra help ! i missed 4 out of 10. how sad.

Good thing you did. I taught mine to. And if someone comes in the room that's your elder , get up and offer them your seat.

food rewards are terrible !! you sad ? here , have some candy. next thing you know Im obese and depressed. who remembers the m&ms ? red one for a belly ache, brown one for a tooth ache. Man , I used to hurt all over !
