i haven't seen a green snake in years

x2 on the broody Red. she just needs to be fed, watered and left alone. LOL thats a hard thing to do I know. Not sure what your feeding but if you intend for her to take care of them she should be on chick food or flock raiser crumbles.

I normally just say, I dont know , can you ?

X3 Red.

I caught my escaped quail. It was one of my female Californias. The Cots are easy to catch. These little goobers fly! She
managed to get off the enclosed front porch and we figured she was gone forever.

I was watering ducks in the back yard and she called so I put the other Cals in a cage and moved them to the back porch. I kept seeing her on the porch or on top of their cage but she was gone before I could close the door. I have been trying to catch her for about 5 days. She's slick. Lol

So today we finally broke down and bought a cage trap to try to get her. It is supposed to get cold in a few days and a lone quail wouldn't make it around here. DH brought the trap and I was getting ready to open and set it.
I looked out and there she was on the porch away from the door so I Fran out and closed it. Caught her!

Those traps work really good. You don't even have to take them out of the box. Lol DH is returning it.

X2! on the food. She doesn't need calcium right now, either. She won't lay until she's done being broody, when she decided the babies are old enough to fend for themselves.
