I have 18 bags of spinach sitting in the kitchen and some (oh boy) arugula ? Looks like something that would cook w/ spinach. some kale .

yes it is normal.......

granny, go check it.......if it's still firm (think un ripe tomoato) then it's still good......

they are a bit tart, very similar to a green tomato

most were firm. what would you do ? fry them like green tomatoes ? yum

you can.......I use them in allot of the mexican dishes I make, or anywhere I'd use tomatoes......gives it a little different but good flavor.....

I wouldn't care if the grocery store was throwing them out or not........if you can tell a fruit is still good, it doen'st have to be chicken food......

I am not sure the grocery varieties are heirloom or not, so they may not grow......

Love mexican food as long as its not spicy. hahaa american /mexican. but i dont/cant cook much . I did save 2 pears out that I can tell are good because there hard as a rock.

with our little ones, we don't do spicy much either........

so I use chili powder a little, but the real secret to making everyone think it's mexican food, is cumin.........lol.......it's the smell......

Tomatillos are heirloom seeds. They will come up next year. Grow them like tomatoes.

For heavens sake, cook the mushrooms in butter and freeze them. Yummy!

when I lived in detroit my friend was mexican and I would go over every morning for coffee and a delish tortilla she called them barbacoa she asked me to check the meat one day in the oven, I opened it and a farking cow was staring back at me .

x2!! I use cumin, cilantro, corn, black beans, and tomatoes in anything "southwestern." Mix all that with some rice and shredded chicken, it's a whole meal! Eat plain or wrapped in tortillas, or as enchilada stuffing. MMMMM.
