Glad you're getting sun. We are cold and wet here.I've got a pork loin in the crockpot. Gotta get this place clean! My yard is underwater but the sun is shining!e so I feel motivated to get out in the house and yard.
I'm getting the honas Monday. I'm so tempted to just keep them inside for a bit... I can't stand the thought of losing them to something dumb.
I have a headache today. I'm just now finishing my first coffee, so that's probably why.

That's terrible. My ten year old boy does a much better job then that. I can't believe that place is in business. I do my on. Vacuum seal and all. I've done many for people and the only time I sent it with some one in a bag was at their request because the were cooking it then. And yours still had bits of bone? That's ridiculous. I quit getting mine processed because no matter who done it, I'd always have to trim a lot of silver skin off. When I do it, the only thing the person has to do us cook it. I do my own So I know it's done the way I want it. And the people I've done them for always like mine better. A professional may get a little more meat then I can but they leave a lot of stuff on them that I don't want to eat like silver skin. I may not be the best at it but I like ny way the best. And everyone that I've helped or done them for always calls me when they get one. It does take me longer to do it though. I'd be ashamed if I was the one that done yours like that.Red: a "professional" place. They do beef and hogs, too. You should've seen the "steaks."![]()
DH ended up with a cutting board moving all the meat from the bony bits. He put the bones in a bag for me (going to try soup or stock) and put the rest through the grinder. Even the ground meat didn't feel right, like it had been finely chopped instead of ground. Only about a third of the steaks we kept.
Good. I'll be nice until you get use to us lol. Just kidding. There's some wonderful people on here that have a lot of experience with chickens. Sometimes we even talk about chickens too lol. I'm sure you've noticed that we cut up once in awhile.. Just watch out for twist. I haven't figured him out yet lol.I'm a hen

Oh the sun
Get out and enjoy it!! We had some yesterday!! I must note it down, it hasn't been seen here in a long time!
That's a good bit of meat. How much did the deer weigh be for it was butchered? We've had good places in the past, wrapped by the pound in either wax paper or cellophane. We think she did this like a pork? I wish I had pics of the bitty steak bits, they looked like t-bones but were about the size of a half dollar. I tried to get DH to keep them so we could cook them for the Super Bowl.
There were ribs, too. We may try to grill them. Even if they don't grill well, I can still throw them in the stock pot and get some good smoky flavor for a soup.
He said it cost $100. It's about 80 lbs altogether. Plus the third he got earlier, we're around 100 lbs.e
