Wishing, what do you think about what this lady said about Lily ? Her reasoning was because she eats 4 cups a day of food there may be something wrong with her.. I am thinking of telling her she can reimburse me and have lily after she heals a some . Am I procrastinating ?

I hear ya Red. I really hear you. Seems everything we say has to be so correct, generic and censored so as not to offend anyone and it's hard!

last I checked we still had freedom of speech . Understand we are not supposed to talk politics on BYC and its not my call but I am doing nothing wrong and we are not fighting. I am simply trying to learn.. I think its a lost cause anyway. LOL

I found my casted rooster today on its back with those funky legs in the air. Its been since the 22nd. I am going to take them off and if he cant fend for himself I guess I will put him down.

Just want to say that I love everyone even though we may not agree!

Hugs Granny! I think you have made the best decision for Lily. Now you are going through the separation process. It's very hard. Try not to overthink this.

yes its hard when In my heart I dont want to give her up an I still want a big dog. I think I remember saying when I first tried to rehome her people will wait til she is fixed , housebroken ect.. then want her.

still the headache yes, no change. She says she will pick her up from the spay. I really am not liking this . I wont ever see this person, she has never seen Lily. Lily will come out of surgery when she needs to be taking it easy in a strange place with new dogs and cats.
I am more worried about your headaches than the dog, quite frankly. You ever speak to a doctor about them in the past or is this something new?

Politics are the reason I have a sister right now that wont speak to me.. I posted a joke on facebook and it made her mad. I still dont know why. LOL and guess it dont matter . I must of been rooting for the wrong team.
Used to be people could have a difference of opinion and still have respect for one another. We have lost that. Very sad.

I was thinking maybe you could plan on being there when the lady picks Lily up after the surgery. I would have a few questions for her as well, like where is the dog going to sleep and spend most of her day? It's too cold for Lily to spend the night outside. Also, why does the lady want the dog? I wouldn't try to put her off, because I think things will be better for you if Lily is placed in a good home, but your peace of mind is important too. Maybe the lady is a little paranoid about having people know where she lives (gee, don't know anyone like that!

). Offer her your phone number and tell her you'd like an update in a few days. You did a lot of work with Lily, socializing her and teaching her a few manners, but I think you've done all you can for her, and it's good if she can move on to a place where someone will be able to work with her. You just need a little reassurance from this lady to put you at ease. Tell her that. If she's a good person, she will understand and give you some grace.

Granny...Please Please Please trust me? It's better for Lilly that way. Harder for you, better for her. Doggies have a clear mind until an emotional human causes them to worry. That's why they work for PTSD and anxiety and other things. For you to do a personal handover would be much harder on her. Please remember that dogs don't ponder. New dogs and cats will be fine. So many times I've seen owners get their dogs all upset by not allowing a clean break. Remember please that I do this all the time. I pick dogs up straight after surgery that don't know me. They thrive. I rehome dogs too. I email a list of what they do and don't do, like and don't like. Then I meet, hand them the leash and leave. It's better for the dog. Let her get to know Lilly. It'll be ok.

I have had migrains befor. I will get a hold of dr. hope monday . BP at CVS was 175/90 . She has already told me she will be a house dog. Its really a long ride to where I have to take her (an hr.) and have to be there before 8 am. then pick up following day. She wants her because everyone was trying to help me and felt sorry for her. I think that was the case. It sounds like a good home to me. wish she would just come here before her spay.
