I've got eggshells but maybe I'll put out something else. What other kinds of food will keep them around?

And I found this on a gardening forum:
"I used to feed a crow population that was living in the woods near our cabin at a holistic retreat center. We weren't growing anything so I can't speak to that problem. We also had a bird feeder and there were plenty of other birds around. I would feed the crows stale bread from the kitchen and chicken bones and roadkill that I would harvest from the nearby country roads, mostly squirrels. We just set the stuff on our railing and they would take it. They would follow us whenever they would see us. They are very smart and you might be able to feed them away from your gardens and still gain advantages and not have them pick at your plants. There were still hawks in the general vicinity."

I put out scraps and if I have any cracked eggs. Crows are scavengers and will eat about anything. Since I always am putting stuff out for them they stay around. A hawk flew over and the crows were after it pretty quickly.

she brought me a present and we went to Greensburg, about 45 min. ride. we went to a sit down restaurant where I thought the waitress wanted to go home with us. She was even on her knees . hahaa food was good . It was where I took Tom and he got stoned . then we went to rural king. No chickens but there was a cute little rabbit that chased me and ate my hair. I showed off everything I thought about at home and she grabbed a couple pics. No selfies though. Not sure why, She is a very beautiful woman. It was a great day. My butt got hot .

Wow, lots of stuff going on in my absence. Had a good & very exhausting weekend with the grandkids. The only thing I'm trying to figure out is how an alien snuck in since their last visit & replaced my happy go lucky 2 yr old gd son with a winy, fit throwing little monster lol. Fortunately the 5 month old gs was in really good spirits this week though. Not much sleep in the past 2 nights, but part of that is I can't take my sleep meds when they are here so I don't sleep well even if they do. Got up to 6 inches of snow this morning that needed to be shoveled out of the chicken runs so the birds will go out to their water stations. Completed that & some quick chores, hurrying cuz hubs is keeping an eye on the little ones & he doesn't normally have his eyes in the back of his head glasses on :gig snow continued heavy for the next five hours. When I went out to shut coops down we had gotten over a foot of snow in 5 hours. So once again I had to shovel the runs & get the snow rake out & take some of the snow load off a small covered run & the roof vents. Hubby had to run the snowblower for the second time today. Praying we will not get anymore snow, but we are under a winter weather advisory for heavy snow fall until tomorrow evening. I don't know where I will go with it if we get more. The snowbanks are so high in the chicken runs now. That's the least of my problems though. The snows getting pretty deep on the roof of the house & garage. Right now its light & fluffy, but if the weather switched up on us & we got freezing rain or warmer temps it would be bad. Think that is going to have to be on this weeks agenda to get it shoveled off. Truly hard to believe that we've only had winter for 3 weeks this year. Mother nature is making up for giving us mild weather thru Christmas. Going to head for a warm bath, not certain if I'll make it back on or not. Have a nice night if I don't :hugs
