The other one was really hard to crack!!! Ok, I'm going to crack this one. Is the fertility check the same for them? Bullseye?

What I know about guineas :
If they are raised locked up for a very long time when you do let them roam they will come back to the coop at night. sometimes after dark. Lock them up til they lay in the morn. before turning them loose. They rather hide out with their eggs leaving them open to predators. They can fly as high as any wild bird and often do but when danger lurks they mostly will squat . The are supposed to be faithful to their home, creatures of habit. A flock of males came and took up residence here with my girls and after they got to knowing each other my girls left with them to the boys original home. (Little sluts) They are not good mamas and its better to incubate if you want to increase your #s. They LOVE white millet and will do just about anything to get it.

yup, bullseye you know I did that post wishing is reading right now about if it was guinea or quail egg. I was wrong. LOL 500 pages of wrong.

I kept them cooped for 8 weeks I think. After that they took up with the broody hen. If weather was good, they would roost in the run. If the weather was bad, they would sleep in the coop. Now they roost on a gazebo frame regardless of weather. I've never seen them do anything but cause trouble. But when they go in the coop the three go together, and one stays outside. One had dug a little nest out in the litter right beside the box. :fl

Guineas lay eggs that range in color from cream to a light brown, some are speckled some are not.

Granny, I was drooling over the pretty eggs in the pictures. And no, we are pushing the limit on animals with 4 dogs and a cat. Didn't tell the land lord about the snake...... Megan says we are going to try sneaking in some quail in the spring....... And we are going to set up an aquarium for Ryan. Everytime we go to Wal~Mart, he has to see the fish......
