Granny, this is going to get confusing... You dont need minutes if you have Wifi which is what you need to run your lap top.. if that is the case, just charge your phone and take pictures and we will walk you through the rest.

what is a sim ?

A sim card is what gives your phone it's identity, ie phone number. Not needed for pics. Can you charge it? Do you have a cord that will connect phone to computer?
