You could raise the roos fer meat too
Good idea. Has anyone ever eaten a ee/ silkie mix? Wonder if it's good. It has black skin.

I crossed a silkie rooster on a cornish X hen. I sold the 8 - 9 week old chicks to a lady at work, I can't remember where she and her family came from. They were dressing out at 3 - 4 pounds. I loved how they tasted, much better than store bought, more of a meaty gamey flavor.

Not only is their skin black, but their meat, bones and innards are blue. Mike wouldn't eat the meat, but once I bit into it, I didn't care what color the meat was.

Morning all! Just got up

Good morning everyone! Just popping in to say Hi because I finally got caught up! Yay me! But I have to pop back out now to start my day. Hope everyone's day is a good one! Also, "Hi Back" to everyone who has said hi to me. :hugs everyone!

Ouch!  No, never had it.  Other than my achy back, plantar fasciitis in my heel acting up again, and the occasional headache, I've never had anything.  Only been to the doctor for a tetanus shot about 15 yrs ago, and before that, for bronchitis when I was in late 20s.  Had both kids in hospital, of course, and saw doc for my shoulder last year.  That's about it.  Cpm[plete medical history.  Oh, I had chicken pox at 25, but didn't see a doctor.
that's great.

well I may be giving that a try then. He's an extra roo and when he gets a little bigger and if no one wants him, he'll end up in the crock pot.

I need this. I have a cup that holds a pot of coffee but I think I'm ready to graduate to the next level.
