I will stick one of my thermometors in the nest today as its colder now then it has been. we have had some 20s though.

Sally, what day would I have to set quail eggs to join the Hal. I'm not sure if they can wait that long for chicks.
We want to hatch on March 26th, (the day BEFORE Easter Sunday)
button quail: 16 days to hatch; set March 10th
coturnix quail: 18 days to hatch; set March 8th
seramas: 19 days to hatch; set March 7th
other bantam and LF chicken: 21 days to hatch; set March 5th
bobwhite quail: 23 days to hatch; set March 3rd
call duck and other bantam ducks: 26 days to hatch; set February 29th
pheasant: 22 to 29 days; set February 26th - March 4th
mallard (derived) duck,goose, turkey, guinea, peafowl: 28 days to hatch; set February 27th
goose: 28 to 32 days to hatch; set February 23rd - February 27th
muscovy duck: 35 days to hatch; set February 20th
emu: approx. 53 days to hatch - set Feb 2nd (for you "serious" hatchers)
 
No, I didnt wash them. I did however take a clean dry paper towel and give some of them a buff. and only where they had hunks .
 
Thank you. I'm going to text about getting the eggs in March instead and see what she says. I'll let the thread know for sure soon.

Not sure what a watery egg would look like. I did feel all them up and toss cracks LOL I will research water and candle them tonight I guess. Just wanting to see if I fixed the bator .
 
Linda, you should do a quail hatch now, and get more eggs for the HAL.  More quail chicks=more happiness!! 


I'm debating setting soon and work on a cooler bater for the Hal and set a few of my chicken eggs.... Decisions decisions.. I really want to make a coolerabater
