#1 is up checking for new chicks now. I only have hope for the last 4 eggs set. Think the 3 other possibles are dead, but they are still sitting, so we'll give a couple more days.

No heat lamp. The light keeps them awake, so I made a little cave out of a heating pad. They crawl under and it feels more like a real mama to them. Lots of contented happy peeping sounds.

I still have to get some good pictures.

#1 reports- no new chicks. no pips.

I was reading your thread a bit this morning.  The entire first month was less than 10 pages, so I'm assuming you have a lot more company for this next 2 weeks, since there are over 50 pages left to read!

Was curious about Roscoe rooster.  He looks like an EE.  What breed is he?

I'm a year and a month+ into my thread and I've tried to post daily :), tho there have been some gaps in it.

Roscoe is a full blooded ameracuana. He'll be fathering my ee's for some time. I rehomed a few of his sons this year and butchered some others. Hoping to get something more than a bunch of buffs this year. Some new hens compared to last year so we'll see.
