its only day 6 and yes, it probably would affect the heat. wasnt thinking of that either.

also thinking about not candeling. I know thats a risk for exploding egg but thats a lot to candle . it will take me a while to get that done.

I would just check a few for air cell growth at least. That way you know to add or take any water in or out. Just a few should not take too long, just make sure you get someone to have a sniff of the bator for anything dodgy

what about taking ten out at a time and shut the door back?

candle and repeat......

or pull the whole basket out, shut the door, candle ten and put the basket back in? then repeat in a few hours until you get them all done?

the incubator will keep it's heat, and it wouldn't be much different than mamma hen getting up to get a drink, or turn the eggs.....

Granny, a ton of people don't candle and do fine but I like Yorkshire idea. Just take a look for weeping eggs and smell.

yes. Many do. We do. although we have plans to introduce a milking breed line with our meat goats.
