Just got an update... The storm is moving in faster than they expected. We are suppose to get the brunt of it.. I got the boys to the living room and hunker them down... Old converted garage... No trees on that part of the house. Be back soon.

stay safe ..

Yikes Linda stay safe and keep us posted.

Granny: hubs was lifting pavers so the girls could get the creepy crawlers.

Morning everybody. House is still asleep here, except for me. Tomorrow's going to be a tough day getting those boys out of bed in the morning.

Hold on tight, Linda! We aren't expecting anything like that, just more rain showers. I hate the wind.

Granny, did you wallop Tom yet?

Morning y'all.

I managed to pen up all four guineas last night, so I let the chickens out around 5:30. About half of them went back by themselves, so that's better than none!

I haven't gone to check the bator yet.
I have a trick that might work. Hang something scary across the door of their old coop. A bright flappy old table cloth might work, or flappy feed bags. My girls are highly suspicious of stuff like that. I went to let them out wrapped in a blanket one morning and I thought they'd kill themselves trying to get away.

Hope you're not getting any of that flooding! Take care!

Hey Yall,
Just wanted to let yall know why I aint been on so much.

My Pops is back in the Hospital.

He's on borrowed time with a failed heart, at 52.

He was given 6 months - 2 years. This was almost 4 years ago.

I dont know how "serious" it is this time, But recognizing the borrowed time, you just dont know what time will be the "Last."

Love Yall

@Sally Sunshine we don't have any family. I have one brother who wouldn't spit on me if I was on fire. My folks are 3+ hours away and mom is usually too sick to travel. I have aunts and cousins but we try to only see each other once a year.

All DH's family lives in Iowa. His mom tries to come down once a year. His dad hasn't visited since DD was a baby, though he can find time to go to the Bahamas, Florida, other places.

So anyway, if we didn't invite the 20-somethings or the classmates, there wouldn't be a party. Like yesterday. :highfive:

The honas are in the old coop, and the guineas are in the old run.

No storm yet???? They said it should be here by now... Pretty quiet outside.
we've been getting alot of rain here off and on for the past few days, some hail and snow higher up. Wind doesn't seem to bad tho. Listen for the wild birds, they'll know when it's coming.

It's quiet and the sun is starting to poke through.. Maybe it was more hype than fact.. All we can do is prepare and wait.. Down town Oly flooded this week.. I'm talking the puget sound. But not much damage at all.

DH just called and said to stock up on groceries. The river is almost to the yurts, and it's coming up another estimated 8ft.

There was a beat pic on fb today of a woman leading sheep through the flood. I'll go and find it.
