Are the chicks under them in this pic. ? Is he taking care of them too ?
I went out to check on the ducks. they are still standing in the mud. with a couple of the chicks too. I guess they will sleep in it.

The chicks are under there somewhere. Not sure because I didn't disturb them. Every time I open the door he runs over to tidbit for me, so I don't know if he's helping much or not.

Next time I have a broody I want to set up a webcam and stream it, like those websites where you can watch the nesting eagles, or otters, or whatever.

I couldnt believe how muddy it is out ! My white polish Is hilarious . Im not real sure there is any white left on her. She reminds me of a zebra. I can buy enough pine shavings tomorrow to put a thin layer around but I really think I need something more heavy duty. Some type of dirt or sand to help drainage and cover the smell or help it to compost faster ? The thing is I dont know if I can handle the bags enough to get it spread and sand isnt going to go very far. Peatmoss maybe ? Light weight, but will it help ?

Very quiet this evening. Everybody okay?

got the ducklings out right? Storeys says 4 to 5 weeks with minimal day shelter and a warm spot at night. Should also stick with bails of bedding, will be cheaper than sand and the pine reacts with their waste.
