Enola, I feel the same way! Living vicariously through everyone here. I even know the weather all over. Nice to know what is going on outside of my little world. :)
Come Vicariously milk these!!
I would even vicariously milk a cow right now. I am quickly getting my fill of living in town!! I am feeding wildlife for entertainment now!!!! We have 3 squirrels, 2 rabbits and the doves. Plus hundreds of luttle birds that come to the feeder!

I still need to learn about the wafer thermostat.. I tried researching it, but I am not understanding how it works quite yet....
It is basically a BIMETALLIC disc.

Metals expand/contract/melt at different temperature points. (there will be no melting here, just reference)

SOOO, You have that metal/yellow bodied switch assembly...

As the temperature rises, the metal (Hollow, Ether filled) wafer/disc expands and it trips the switch/switch closes contacts.

Once the temperature is satisfied , the wafer gradually contracts and breaks contact with the switch. Shutting off the heater.

IF the temperature fluctuates WILDLY, the wafer has most likely sprung a leak and the Ether leaked out.

This only happens after many years of use.

The Ether acts as a cushion inside, helping the wafer disc to expand/contract more gradually.

That is such a good description!! I figured it out though. LOL I took it to dads and he explained it to me and we had it plugged in for a bit so I could tell how it changes with temperature change.. That is pretty dang cool. My bator works. I cant believe it. I just didnt understand until I saw it working.. my brain is weird like that sometimes. LOL
