Good morning!!! Do we have chicks yet????? I get my eggs hopefully today or tomorrow. Drive all the way to the post office just to have them tell me I can't pick them up!!! Lol

Granny has one that has hatched but I'm still waiting One pip and others are rocking but it's taking forever!!

Wishing has gone to the feed store and they have chicks in!

Stopped back in, took a bath & when I came out another chick has hatched. I think this one is a boy. 2 down 13 to go lol. Thank God for sleep meds, these things need to hurry up & hatch though. Hubs & I are headed out of town tomorrow & I found out he purchased a mower deck that we have to pick up on the way down. So what started out as leaving in the evening has turned into sometime during the day. Gotta get theses babies hatched & into the brooder. Not certain my daughter would be super attentive to chicks still hatching. Just dawned on me too that I have 3 other Bator's running that the humidity needs to be monitored & a little bit of water added once in a while. We won't be back until Sat. night argh....

hopefully you'll have a house full of chicks when you get back.

Red NC has pretty high humidity most of the year doesn't it? If so I would stick to doing a dry hatch (humidity level around 25%) My house is running pretty high on humidity right now so when I add water it usually isn't more than a 1 to 1 1/2 tsp at a time. Yours is apt to hold humidity longer too because your hatching in a still air. No fan blowing around drying up the water faster.

Just been in to check on dinner and had to look at the incubator and I see another pip e Just happened as I had not long checked on them

Was also just at my feed store. They have chicks too, the bins seemed rather boring, turkey coming in the middle of next month tho. Excited for that.
