Ok confession time , I have nothing but RIRs they are production birds I ordered from my pet chicken as peeps to me they are food . About two months ago as I gathered eggs I was suprised to find a green egg. I really didn't know what if anything would cause this so I looked to folks on here for answers . I kept it quiet and only asked questions in pm . I followed the advice , looked for different colored legs on my birds I got close to 200 birds so it was no small feat. Nothing!!! And then no green eggs I figured I was being played . But I kept it quiet and acted like nothing was going on then a second egg magically appeared. I made sure my coops were locked and stayed locked I figured it was one of my friends pulling my chain. Then over a month passed and yesterday not one egg but 2 eggs kinda olive green I had cameras up but no photos . Some I did some investigating turns out I was being played by ....... MY WIFE AND MY MOM !!!!!! I really didn't know they had it in them lol so the joke was on me .....

if you don't they are just going to die a horrible death at a very young age. 

I'm in the same boat. They are very nice. I intend to cull. Pearls dd is still not to happy about it. I may let her keep one and restrick food but as soon as it looks like it needs to go, I'll have to cull it too. Lets face it, it's hard to take any animals life but God put them here for us to eat. Now saying that I do have a few that I will never cull unless they're suffering. And yes I'd eat them too. I hope this don't offend anyone but I'm never killed anything that I haven't eat. Well except bugs and stuff. But I've ate a few of them too lol.

Getting better! It was a very tough week.  Could you say a little something for Callie who was with me for 17 years? and me also, because I hated that she peed in the bed and on me while she was sick and I wasn't always nice about it. I swatted her butt when she just squatted and peed in the bed. I feel horrible about that but It is a knee-jerk reaction to swat her but when she is peeing in the bed. I am having trouble resolving this. My swatting her when she was ill. Does that make any sense? Your words would be appreciated.

so glad papa made you feel better. I helped with my grandma the last year that she lived. Like papa she had dementia and it does get frustrating sometimes. I'm a very easy going person but I too raised my voice a few times with her.. Yes I'm ashamed of myself for that. It wasn't mean words or anything But it was louder then I should've spoke. My mother did the same. We both regret it and I sure wish that I could be agrivated by her again. And I wish I could change it. Tippy we all understand what you went through and you gave calli her entire life which is more then most of us would have. You truely are a special person.
