Some folks were coming by to dug up some azalea starts. I had it timed so I had just enough time to shower and dress. Well I'm drying off and the doorbell starts ringing like crazy. All my clothes were on the kitchen table, in view of the door. I called DH in a panic and made him come home.
It's the old lady who runs the junk shop. She wanted to buy chickens.
I threw some clothes on and ran out with my hair wringing wet. Serves me right for not getting dressed til 10. :lol; Anyway, I have her three black EE pullets and the calico roo, then the big EE rooster. She was in love!! I'm also going to hatch 10 biddies for them.
I told DH that I was going to put 20 eggs in the bator, just in case. He said to fill it up!!
e So I'm filling the bator today.
It's not the outcome I wanted for either of those roos, but hopefully she'll take care of them. She lost a batch of chicks (I gave her) to a predator and fried 3 doz sussex eggs (also free) in her incubator. I'm a little nervous. :/
So in about a month I'll start hatching the pure HRIR eggs!
I could sell a pair or two, I guess. I've got plenty.
