SCORE Wansnt til I was home and had them poured up did I realize there aint no apples ripe in Mi. They must be from last year which will make them taste like sand paper .
If they're not good for eating, cook them down for apple sauce. Super easy, not really cooking at all, just chop, heat and stir with a little water and cinnamon. Last resort, feed them to the chickens. Just don't waste 'em. I was picking through the Fuji's, which #2 likes, and I could tell the better ones by flicking them with my finger. You can tell by the sound which ones are mushy and have been out of storage too long.

We eat apples year round. They've got the long term storage thing down pat. I have some green plastic bags impregnated with this chemical that prolongs the useful life of fruit and veggies in the fridge. Works like a charm!

Better living through chemistry?

Yes my last hatch in october. That s why i made a new brooder for them. They may npt be warm enough.

So sad! :hit Could they be getting wet and chilled? Mine all fight over the water and push each other in, then they're all soaking wet and screaming under the heat lamp. I took the marbles out (they were kicking them out) but it was happening before that.

Well. My friends are all together and heading to Edmonton. Glad she, her hubs, and their two dogs are together and safe now. Still...stressful for them. My heart breaks.

Sitting outside with my chickens. Sparkles is entertaining herself with a pile of old weeding...and apparently finding all the bugs. The neighbor's Banty rooster almost made an appearance. Then saw me and decided not to hop the fence lol. Got a flat of ice plant too from Home Depot today to replant some of what my girls have destroyed and hopefully appease the landlord.

So glad to hear! :hugs

I sat out in the yard and turned over boards so the babies could eat the creepy crawlies. It was super fun! I think the yard is ready to (temporarily) house the goats tomorrow!
