Since we're eating for wishing, forgot to say earlier that one of my broodies has jumped the nest. Mae West was still clucking broody noises, but from the perch. She didn't have eggs. Guess we'll see if she goes back or not.

Yes, but that's against the rules. I had decided that whoever stuck to their empty nest til the 16th would get eggs. Two broodies is still plenty. And they are DETERMINED. The HRIR regularly has 5-6 eggs under her, I have no idea how. I mean, I'm sure she's just picking the nest where the most eggs are laid. It's still impressive.

That's wild! Under the BCM I usually find 1-3, and the cochin regularly had zero. Still getting 9-11 a day.

I was being lax in collecting until I started getting those extra large blastoderms from eggs that were bring sat on. That made me sad. So now I'm going out more often.

ya, I had one like that and I was being brave and all. cooked it then switched plates with Tom.

I will have to toss all these because of the mud/poop every where.
