Hi everyone, sorry it's been a while. Between getting gardens & greenhouse planted & going on a 10 day vacation you could say I'm a little behind. I have missed each and everyone of you. This is a super busy time of the year for me with the gardens & veggie stand & canning. I will try to stop in occasionally, but no guarantees. Most days I'm so tired that if I read I'm doing good.
Wanted to let you all know what a blessed vacation hubby & I had. We managed to surprise granny with our first visit, she had no idea we were stopping to visit. I knocked on the door, Chicken Boy slowly opened the door part way & I asked him "Does a granny & a Chicken Boy live here?" He gave me a strange look, then opened the door farther for me to see granny. She took one look and yelled "Lisa" We hugged so hard I don't think either of us could breath. We visited for hours (so much laughter & joy) but eventually we had to head out. Broke my heart to have to leave granny, Tom & Chicken Boy, such good people.

The next morning Danna heard we were in Kentucky & wanted to know where we were at & if we could stop in for a visit. Told her our route & what time we were to meet our kids & that we would be staying overnight at our first cabin. After checking with the GPS I realized we were a bit farther out & probably wouldn't be able to meet up with Danna until the end of our trip. I got a hold of Danna & told her it wouldn't be until the following weekend before we could meet. Of course she was bummed. She had made a cherry cobbler for us & had straightened up a bit. She decided to have some cobbler & take a nap since we weren't coming. As the day plays out, hubby & I get to the cabin, but dd & her whole family weren't there yet. They had gotten a later start & weren't going to be arriving for another 3 hrs. We Googled Danna's address from where we were & it was only 2 1/2 hours away. Since we couldn't even get in to the cabin, we decided to head to Danna's. Of course when I tried to contact Danna, Internet coverage was all over the place in the mountains and her phone number was in a pm on BYC which wouldnt load. Needless to say, she was surprised to see us when we got there. Danna & her husband John are wonderful people. Had such a delightful visit & they even took us sightseeing. DD called wondering when we were going to be getting back to the cabin, that they were there. I told her to eat without us & that we would be heading out as soon as we got back to Danna & John's home. Danna & I had been chatting so much in the back seat I hadn't realized that we were a ways from their house. Didn't really matter though, we weren't going to be doing anything at the cabin since we all had traveled so much that day. When we returned to Danna's we had cobbler & chatted somemore. We still had a 2 1/2 hour drive back up the mountains to get back to the cabin. So as evening approached we headed out. Once again with great sadness, we had to leave behind 2 very special people. The following morning we headed out for the cabin in Pigeon Forge,TN. We had a wonderful week with family & many, many adventures. Some I could even check off my bucket list, lol. On Sat. morning we headed out over the Great Smokey Mountains for Rockingham, NC. You got it ~ Red's house. His was not a surprise visit, I had made arrangements with him prior to our trip to meet up. We still wanted it to be a surprise to all of you though, so neither of us said a word. We were hoping to just take pictures & put them on here as a surprise, but neither of us have been able to download pictures to this sight.

Hubby & I had a wonderful visit with Red, Pearl & the kids. Red had grilled steaks & had dinner all ready for us when we arrived. We were so blessed by their hospitality & laughter. It was like a family get together, but one you wanted to be invited to. We did some sightseeing & then had ice cream to round out the night. Hubby & I went back to the Hotel to crash. We were exhausted from so much traveling & we were meeting Red & his family for breakfast the next morning before we started our trek back to MI. Breakfast came & went too fast. It was like visiting with people you've known your whole life. With great sadness we started our journey home. I had tried to convince hubs to go through Indiana on our way home, but he was too tired to catch my drift. We were somewhere in the mountains of West Virginia when hubs woke up & I mentioned we should have visited granny one last time before we headed home. He said "Ok" let's do it. So with a lot of changes to our route we ended up at grannys house at almost 10:30 pm Sunday night. Bless their hearts, granny said it was ok to come that late & even Tom stayed up & visited with us. There are no words strong enough to describe how special each & everyone of these people are! My advice to you all, is if it is humanly possible to ever meet any of them ~ Do It ~ They are wonderful people. I've been so blessed by each & everyone of them. I look forward to our next visit. Love you all, but I have to get back to work. Last 2 days have been a struggle, missing my friends, exhaustion & bad headaches, but it was WAY worth it :hugs
Lisa I know y'all were worn slap out. We so wanted to just tie y'all down so ya couldn't leave. The kids even asked, why can't they just move in beside us.? I wish they could. Y'all are two of the nicest, generous, loving people that we have ever met. Miss and love y'all so much. :hugs

Looks like I'm a bit late to the party, having just caught up.

For you, red!
