My daughter started this whole chicken mess before I got here. I'm not sure what got her twisted sideways to start keeping chickens for eggs, well, yeah I do, but that's another story... anywho... she said she just went online and searched poultry for sale and found a local lady that had all four bantams and jumped right in. She built the coop with very little help. I was quite impressed when I first seen the plans she drew for it. lol
Oh wait, that wasn't what you asked at all. roflas The lady my daughter bought the big chickens from gave us a dozen to hatch because we have broodies. Needless to say only five eggs were fertile. This one was hatched first. One was eaten right out of shell by the chicken in time out. One hatched but its butt wasn't formed right and it past within a few minutes. The last two only made it to balls of gooey fuzz (when we opened them 15 days past hatch date).

Tommy is pretty any named granny ? LOL
Tommy is pretty and very small. All his black looking body feathers are beetle green in the sun and beautiful green tail feathers too. He would make a nice starter rooster for someone to breed, the best of the cockerel, but he's not as sweet as I like them to be and no one is attached to him, so he is going!

Quote: Sugar water. Little energy boost might get it going.

Quote: That is the cutest picture! They are very pretty. Where/who did you get them? That's funny your daughter wants more whites. Love the Serama eggs because the yolks are so big!
