well, not me personally and maybe not the chickens because I did treat them but the coop wasnt treated. Hard to do when you cant clean it very well.

If you got one that was a good doer ie does not need hard feed it could be feasible.
As you say fencing would be important but cost money. You would need to worm it and have a farrier to trim the hooves. A dentist every year to it plus any vet bills that it may incur. On a good year though I've only had my vaccinations to pay fit with Harry. Bad years it's been a £1,000 or so. Depends how he manages to injure himself or choke or get a bit of colic.
I'm not sure totting all that up would save any cash but sure would save you pain.
