This morning when I went out to feed the chickens I had 6 of the younger chickens free ranging. The kids when they locked the chickens up last night didn't latch one of the doors all the way and when they pushed up against it it popped open.

So here I was chasing 8 week old chicks around and around the coop. Couldn't open the bottom of the run and chase them in as that's where the others were. I slowly one by one got them back onto cage. I was down to one. It's a barred rock, I keep chasing, round and round, try going opposite way. Finally I give up. Take a break go back and finish feeding other chickens. I bend over to scoop some food out of a trash can and the stupid bird flies onto my head. :lau all that chasing and it just flew onto my head. :lau

LMAO we use a finshing net the type you use to scoop up the fish on the hook Makes catching them easIER

Darn American plagues.

Seriously. Two years ago on this day I left my motherland and came here. I used to never get sick. Ever. And if I did, a day of rest usually knocked it back to functioning.

Nope! We're on day 3. Four if you count the day it struck at work. :/

Sorry I've been so quiet. It's just been stuffy head sleep sleep sleep blow nose sleep sleep sleep cough sleep sleep.

My poor chickens are currently rather neglected.

I was thinking about that as I was chasing the birds. And then wishing I had one when I got down to the last one. Usually the kids are good at catching them as they are faster so haven't needed one. But kids are usually still asleep when I go out to feed the chickens.
