I don't have enough experience to know. They seem lethargic and weak to me. I've been giving them jump start gel and I put a fan up for them. I might have to supplement bottles? I guess I need to weigh them so I'll know if they're gaining or not.

I guess as long as they are drinking milk they should be ok??? I have no idea either.

I know that when I have a litter of pups...the first few days I make sure each one gets to drink its milk every two hours...around the clock.
I wake up to check on the pups.
I never really had any problems with a mom not wanting to feed them I just MADE sure they were all being fed good.

Congrats York!! I ended up with 14 more Tolbunt eggs in my bator.. I have no idea how they got there.

Tolbunt jealously here! Congratulations :clap

Do they get up to drink regularly, are they just sleeping a lot? They were born just yesterday? Yes, weighing them is a good idea. I've never used jump start gel. You can always take their temp too.

They're always sleeping when I go to see them, and breathing so fast it almost looks like shivering. They were born Tuesday afternoon, almost 48 hours old. My neighbor with goats recommended the jump start gel.

Our temp is 92, heat index is 102. They're in the barn with two big windows and a fan.

I can't check them every two hours right now because we have a HUGE group of kids and I've got 1-2 helpers, depending on the meal. Stretched pretty thin. The boy was laying by the door this morning, and an hour later he hadn't moved and the nanny was nudging him with her nose. He's less vigorous than the doeling. I went and put him at a teat and he drank a bit, then switched and drank a bit more. I also saw him pee for a surprising amount of time.
