can't  incase of a fire .   State law or at least city.    If I am ever crazy enough to build a motel.  there would be a sensor in the window and if it is open  heat/ac unit goes off.   also a motion dector   after 45 minutes of no motion all lights and tv go off. 

The one time I went to Europe , the hotel room actually killed all power once you left the room. When you went back in the room you had to insert your key card in a slot to get the air to come back on. Once you took your card out it went off.
