I lost a lot of money and time here planting wrong. I would dig the hole 2xs as wide and amend the soil with good tree dirt . Trees did great for a yr. or 2 . Then the rains came and I had made a pond underground. Best thing I can do here is bare root natives. No adapting to the clay . So, you can dig a hole just about anywhere here and have a pond. The clay wont let the water escape.

We finally wore him out today! He's got this annoying pee habit that's really starting to frustrate me: he doesn't GO all at once. A little here, a little there. Is he marking already? The only time I don't mind is when he has an accident indoors, because there's hardly anything to clean up.

He was naughty today pouncing chickens at the farm. I think he intends to try every. single. one. Just in case one of them isn't off limits. He had a pullet pinned down and mouthing her feathers while I was distracted. That got a great big fussing.

But he's such a good greeter! Five new people at the farm today, and he ran over to greet each one. Perfect. :love

I would keep him on a long line around the chickens. I let my chickens peck at my puppy, she learned to respect them.
