ya, I would bring him here so I didnt have to stress the cat by moving it.  But, is it painless or very quick. No way to really know that. Someone recommended valium first. Or benadrly.

I would think it's fairly humane. That's how I dispatched the possums and raccoon last year. They were in live traps. Lots of people told me to throw the traps in the pond.

I have been told that as well, I couldnt do that to a cat. even though I have heard drowning is a peaceful way to die. I wouldnt think it would be for a cat. The dog warden shoots them. IDK

I couldn't do it to a nasty trash marsupial. I could shoot them, though. I got pretty good at it. DH shot a sick cat once. It was a friends pet, and she was too cowardly to even consider the vet.

I am talking to everyone in the house about this. I dont need guilt and I dont lie . We just got our check I could take him to the vet But I already know she will put him down. He has been ill for a while now. I thought the thinness was due to worms . I wormed them with no changes and yes, there are 3 cats out there with 2 brothers having the same thing. Maybe taking one in will save the other. They act inbred .

Granny, have a neighbor or the Amish handle it. I honestly think that is best...

I watched our steer get killed by the mobile butcher guy. .22 rifle shot in the brain and the steer dropped immediately and was instantly dead. There was no suffering. And even if a bullet caused an instant of pain for the cat, it is suffering now...

And they get scared going to the vet. Shots are painful for some... they try to pull their foot away. If a neighbor can do it quickly... hit the right spot, it will end the suffering.
