Im not that good but I know a little something ,something. I am willing to help if you are willing to not blame me if one dies. Sally is great but she dont tend to interfere if there is trouble. Thats the biggest thing. Do you want nature to run its course or do you want to try and help and possible end up with a special needs chick or one that might end up dying on you a week later anyway. It dont take much to become attached to the little things especially after you help it to live.

I wouldn't blame you or anyone if they die thats just nature or my mistakes.I will try my best..

baby steps. I HAD to pull CB from there . There wasnt any other choice

I'm so glad he is with you..

it is new and i have a hygrometer ordered. My only problem i see with the bator there are no places to put the eggs  they just will lay there,no slots i guess you would say and no room to add any thing to lay them in..

I believe Danna, @Yorkshire Coop
might have some tips on your brinsa. Like adding more eggs then its supposed to hold. She has a ton of 100% hatches.

:frow

Congrats on the new incubator Danna :clap
Is it the mini Eco? Does it have a turning disc to lay the eggs down on their sides? Will need to check the Eco handbook out but it maybe a manual turning one.

Hardest thing for me was to realize I was an enabler. I was helping her keep her drug habit by feeding them.  I had to tell her you will get nothing from me . the kids wont have food and if you cant feed them I will take them from you. It took her being down on the floor rolling in agony and me turning my back before she decided she had enough. Is she clean ? Nope, found that out when I was at the hospital . she told me she took a pill. I asked why and her answer was, Because I wanted to.  ergo, no electric. I am still being an enabler by keeping CB but I will never give him up. Not even for her.

Did they have to move?

You could put some self liner in the bottom to sit to the eggs on if you are worried about them slipping about. Incubating them on their sides is fine just mark either side of the egg, one with an O and the other with an X. Turn at least 3 times per day but 5 would be better. As long as it's an odd number of times per day it's fine. This is so they don't sit in the same position for more than 1 night at a time as this is when there is the most time inbetween turns. Once you get your hygrometer in there you will get an idea of what water you will need in there for the humidity. Brinseas are good at holding the humidity so you probably won't need a lot. Do you have a guard cover for the water pot for when they are hatching?
