I have never heard of them cutting the cord like that. Was it wrapped around his neck, maybe?? Even then, never heard of them cutting it in utero.
My #1 was similar in the excessive amniotic fluid. My water broke a few days shy of 4 wks early, not in labor, and when they induced, he did not want to come out! 4 hours of pushing, about 10 different medical staff in the room waiting for an emergency. I understood they were contemplating c-sec, so I started pushing with or without contractions, which I couldn't seem to time. Contraction would stat and I couldn't even take a breath to push. Figured I'd push until I passed out, then I wouldn't care about surgery. So FINALLY he came out... and was fine. No meconium (poop) in the amniotic fluid, 9 out of 10 on the APGAR score. Adrenaline level in the room dropped quickly, some comments of disbelief. He didn't need any help. He was screaming just fine. Hubs went over and spoke to him and he stopped crying soon as he heard his voice. Jaundice problems the first 2 weeks. I did everything I could to keep him out of the hospital, much to the dismay of the doctors. Had to have his blood tested every other day for a week. Bliliruben count got really high, but was still one point lower than what she said was cut off for him to go into hospital. I had to take him back next morning, and if it was not lower, he would be admitted. I WON!![]()
Very sensitive baby, lots of screaming/crying, hard to comfort, sensitive to noises and sights. No eye contact.I was worried, but pediatrician said he was "neurologiacally intact." There were irregularities in the brain found when I was 5½ months along. Had to do the amnio (talk of lethal conditions and much crying) and went to the university med center for MRI on baby in my tummy. Dr, there was pretty reassuring, which was good because we had decided he was already here, so no need to rush amnio in case we wanted to abort by the 6 month deadline! (I almost walked out of that place because I didn't even want to consider the possibility.) So you can see my #1 has been my special guy from before he was born. At 2 months they looked at his brain through the soft spot on his head and said there was nothing but normal that could be seen.![]()
very simular. cord wrapped twice. what age were you ? I was 30
Brandon had his wrapped twice too. I was in my 30s. But they pushed him back in and pulled the cords off and I had to relabor. I also had midwives not doctors.

He also came three weeks early but all my kids did. He was the only one I was in labor with for hours... The others were less than one hour...
DD wasnt breathing when she came out. she had the meconium. and cord wrapped. They used to strap you down then. I asked why isnt she breathing and the nurse patted me and said maybe she isnt born yet. I broke the strap trying to get up.
wow ! 2 days and 3 nights of hard labor with DD , 11 hrs with DS
stem to stern ! hahahahaaaa never heard it said like that before.Oh my garsh!! I don't know how you guys did it!!!! I don't think I would have handled being strapped down good. I had a doctor for Michael. Easy fast labor but he didn't know when to stop me and I tore from stem to stern. I chose midwives for the other three. Way more relaxed... Yes, there were hick ups along the way but they had everything calm. Big difference between the two.
