the jury is still out as to how much a 3 month old chick should eat but thats not much.

I was thinking the same doesn't seem like much especially considering the rate at which chicks grow.

I mean when you think about it a 2 or 3 oz chick turns into a 5 to 7 lb hen in less then 6 months that is a pretty amazing growth rate.

I have heard that it takes the average hen 4 lbs of food to create/produce a dozen eggs.
