GRAPHIC PICS of my day learning to caponize

MIL is having a difficult time. She has been moved from the rehab hospital back to the operating hospital to diagnose and treat what may be pneumonia and a kidney infection, or something mimicking the same symptoms.

Kelly - I sent you a PM. Sorry for the tardiness of my reply.

He hatched late Jan, so 38-39wks.
The ones I have are black as well, a BCM/Lavender Orpington cross. They are 22 weeks old now.....and the feathers are getting longer by the day....I need to get a picture.

You Aussie is gonna make some fine eatin'. When are you planning to butcher?

So sorry to hear about your MIL. Will pray for her.

Now we need a comparison shot between these and the Cornish X

To me that would be comparing apples to oranges. 'Cuz the CX is going to be ready at 8wks, and these guys are still in the 1-1.5lb range. They'd make a great spatchcock, but it takes weeks to develop the flesh qualities and flavor that these birds are noted for... 24wks on up to 8 months.

I do believe there are some holidays just around the corner, right?

Mostly curious as to how they compare as far as the distribution of muscle, I want a slower growing bird.
Looks to me like they would be comparable.

Edit to clarify
