Clean the wound as best as you can and apply neosporin. Confine her and add electrolytes to her water. Keep her warm to help with the shock. Make sure she has a high protein diet to help with recovery.
Chickens can recover from some mighty horrible wounds. Good luck with her and keep us posted.
When you clean it out, if you have a syringe and some betadine , I'd mix up a tea colored solution of it with warm water and try to flush out the hole as well.
If you don't have betadine you can use saline solution.
Try to get the antibiotic ointment (without pain reliever) deep in there as well.
Poor girl.
Hope she recovers okay.
What do you have on hand to clean the wound? Hibiclens (Chlorhexidene,) betadine and water, saline, dawn and warm water, and a kitchen hose sprayer are all good to clean a wound. Vetericyn wound spray, plain Nesoporin or Triple Antibiotic Ointment are all good to apply to the wound to help prevent infection. If using Peroxide, only use it once or not at all, since it may impair healing. BluKote is not for deep wounds.
If she is in shock. let her sleep in a warm basket or crate in a dim quiet place. Offer water and food when she is alert. Chopped egg is a favorite of sick or injured birds.
Watch for signs of infection--redness, swelling, or pus from the wound. Puncture wounds from teeth can easily abscess.
Soap and water is as good as anything. I wouldn't use peroxide.I do not have anything other than peroxie.
