the grandparents raised geese A LONG time ago, like when i was 3 (im 19 now) lol.
they werent very nice. but then again there were both ganders and geese, and they were protective of the "house" where their eggs were.
no clue what kind they were.

they also raised muscovies for a while. not really my cup of tee either. tho for some reason i have the urge to get a runner duckling in the spring

Im sure they were. Geese are very protecticive of their eggs.

I love muscovies. But focusing on welsh harlequins right now. Ended up getting a good quality pair of Welshies from my order of 4 ducklings.

I'm sorry if our input has come off as criticism because that is not what we are trying to do. We are just trying to inform you that the geese may not protect the ducks in the way you would like. We'd hate for you to add them and be disappointed. I've never owned a buff american but I have worked with them. In my opinion they are equal in friendliness. You may want to consider other qualities such as egg laying, noise, feed ratio, etc.

I have owned both breeds and I've told you my experience with both of them.

I still hope you don't put those geese in with your call ducks. You will wake up one morning to find them all dead since geese are very very territorial.

just bcuz you had an experience like that does not mean all geese are going to do it .
im not going to base it all on one person saying a goose is going to kill my calls.

I think if you get one you should really get two, just so they have eachother and wont be stressed or lonely. Qnd when you do get them, you shouldnt put them in the fence with your calls right away, put the geese in a fence right next to the calls so they can get used to each other
