I did not break their membranes-they were stil intact so I put them right back in the nest and put momma back on them! I hope shes hatches them out!

Good luck with your hatch. I put one to my ear a moment ago and could hear faint tapping. Not sure if it was alive or I'm delusional from waiting though

Maybe there's some sort of signal the hens go by when to stop sitting. If they get a bad clutch or unhealthy chicks ->>>>>>> = death

Thanks--Ill let you know tonight when I check again-usually if the eggs are bad and such they roll them out of the nest and wont sit on them anymore!

I don't know how but I'm putting it down to the mother being inexperienced and the chick being a bit weaker from hatching late. So should I just close shop and chuck the eggs? Ugh. I don't think I'll trust her on any eggs anymore

Oh im sorry

I would smell them, if they smell bad it means there dead, Wait! dont chuck them yet! do the water in glass trick. You put warm water in a cup, and set the egg in there and if it wiggles its still alive. If nothing happens I would open one and see how far it got.

I'm so sorry it's not going well.

I would defiantly try happyhens44's suggestion of the float test. I really hope you end up with some chicks.
