Saiga costs around $500 an a US made equivalent is about 3 to 4 times that. More than I usually pay for cars....

Cowboy, just what do you shoot with those guns? My kids buy guns to go hunting, but they never seem to go and when they do go, they don't bring back anything to eat. They shoot coyotes, but I sure wouldn't eat them.

I can buy a whole bunch of pork and beef with the money my kids spent on rifles. Maybe I am just too old for that stuff.

What Saiga is known for is the Saiga 12. Its a 12 gauge shot gun but it looks an works like an AK47. I think everything Saiga makes is based on the AK platform.

What can you shoot with one?

Though I am sure you could hunt with one, the Saiga 12 is built to be the most efficient short range man stopper you can buy. It has been replacing the pump shotgun as the best home defense gun.


I dont hunt ether. I have two guns 3 guns I carry for protection.... I have a .22 pocket gun as a backup an I have a .410 shotgun revolver I carry most of the time. I also have a .38 special to carry when I am somewhere I have to conceal. The rest of my guns are just range toys... I want a Saiga 12 but it would also just be a range toy..
