More Americans should be aware of such fact versus fiction contained in literature such as Kennedy's The South Was Right and other works. To the victor go the spoils and much history has been replaced by fiction. The foundation of the Civil War history, mentioned in school when I was a kid, dictated to us that the war was a "righteous" war against slavery. Nothing could be farther from the truth. We can thank the the "union" for the encroachment on state independence and the destruction of the national economy as a whole. Federal tyranny is what the union wanted, and they now have it. Every one who votes for more government gets what they deserve.
