hold up, so u mean since we started off in one place that must mean we r all the same right, wrong, i guess we all r africans, not
native americans may have a mongoloid structure to them but that does not make them asian they r to an extent their own distinct persons due to the land they lived and have adapted to, so to deny that their were no real natives in america simply due to not having a real humanoid species evolving from a ape like creature that lives on that land, i'm sayin that they r because they r in the americas in earliest stage in their most primitive form we immigrants r of the modern world

As much as I loathe Bush, he had a good idea on work permits. It's a no brainer that it's inhumane to do mass deportations and break up families. The hiring laws should be enforced rigorously. Work permits could be used in places like California where they have a lot of crops to harvest and need the cheaper labor.

As usual everyone gets painted with the broadest of brushes. Some people do come here just to work and send the money back home. You would do the same if you lived in squalid conditions and couldn't feed your family and your country had no social safety net at all. Some of the younger posters on here may get that opportunity someday. Others actually want to live here. Everything I have heard indicates that immigration is very difficult to achieve. If you just walk into the immigration office they can send you back and tell you to get in line on the other side. Reagan allowed illegals to do that for a fixed period. That must be what Debi is referring to. I lived in Ca at that time and it was quite an issue. Regardless of what people think there are a lot of Republicans in Ca. They weren't happy about it. At the time, illegal immigration was mostly a border state problem with Ca having the largest percentage because of the large produce production.

It's not a simple problem and can't be solved by the solutions that the geniuses on the right wing talk shows like to come up with. Try to remember that their only purpose in life is to distort hot topic issues to get more advertisers. It was birther crud for a while. Now it's back to illegal immigration again. BTW the left wing guys are just as bad. They just approach it from the opposite angle and there are only a handful of them.

Has anyone tried that Rosana Stone language learning system? I would like to learn Spanish so I can more fully embrace our brothers and sisters from the south.

That is only a theory, granted widely accepted but still a theory. There are other guesses as to how the Indians immigrated here. I do not believe the Indians had a word for native or American for that matter.

when i'm talkin bout the natives i meant to say the ones who happened to cross Bering Strait who happened to live there for tens of thousands of years, u can go and deny their name all u want but u know very well that u and my ancestors r new to this land which was theirs first in no way u can call urself a native, only a citizen don't abuse the term

so should someone able to wander into your house and kick you out because, you weren't really there first? That no one was really there first? That everyone was an immigrant at some point?

Native Americans were here first,

just because you want' to argue semantics doesn't change the fact that Europeans were invaders (illegal immigrants) to a land already owned by millions of people.

You could just move there if you really want to embrace them... I have a feeling you would not like it there. There is too much poverty in that country and the people are more divided along ethnic and social lines. The ones that we get up here are of the native sort the mayan/aztec descent the lower class if you will. I have found that bigotry is rampant in Mexican culture and they have the same problem on thier southern border as we do and feel the same way.

Immigration process is not that difficult I have worked for several from the eastern block countries and they had no problems but it did take time and they told me nothing comes easy.

I believe the financial burden is the biggest complaint from legal residents. However I do also realise breaking up a family is not the best choice but they can follow the rules or why have them, it is like competition sports why have a scoreboard?

Maybe I should have worded it better it is 6:30 here, I have done work here for eastern block immigrants, which I have noticed they do not work or live like the hispanics they are more middle working class, very good businessmen. I also work with the Japanese but they are not citizens well maybe they have dual citizenship. A lot of Russian are developers and I do land clearing for them.

Im not saying the Europeans were not invaders at the time. The "we were hear first" was a valid point when it happened. It falls apart once everyone involved is dead an gone. The "old world" has now been a part of the "new world" for 500 years. No one that invaded or got invaded is still around. Both cultures have blended in to a new one. I am not European. I an an American. Born an raised here. As native to this land as any other person living here can be. To say any different is raciest.
