The things that make me mad are

1. Illegals getting government assistants. I used to work at a chicken plant where some, not all, would go file for food stamps under a different name and GET them.

2. Schools having to pay for a teacher to teach Hispanics English. Hello if our children where to go to their schools they would be expected to already know the language.

3. When I call somewhere in the U.S. Why must I choose to be spoken to in English?

I have no problems with someone trying to better themselves. but our immigration laws need to match that of other countries.

On a side note the one part of the bill that really seemed to be over the edge: if you give a "illegal" a car ride, knowing the are "illegal" you can be jailed.

how far back are they going to go. A huge portion of us residents have illegal immigrants in their ancestry.

so if a child born here who is the child of a parent who was born her by illegal immigrants. or great grand parents? or what if only one of the parents is illegal?

The thing is when my Great (G,G, G, G) Grandfather came here from Ireland all boats came through Ellis Island and you were processed and the paperwork started for citizenship that day. My ancestors came here for some of the same reasons that people come here today-no work in their countries, extreme poverty, religious persecution, etc, etc, etc,....
Today, in the computer age when such things should take minutes it now can take YEARS to become a citizen. That's just criminal. Some of these people come here and all they want it to work and feed their families and we hold up the paperwork that can make them legal and then spit on them because they're illegal. I mean really, it's legal now to HATE groups of people just because they want to work and get the third rate education that America offers. I don't get it.

I don't have a problem with people that come here legally threw a visa or other means even if it takes years to get there green card, assuming they want to stay. Sneaking in should make you ineligible for citizenship and/ or other privileges an you should be deported.

My grandparents came over here from Germany years & years & years ago. They did everything legally. Came here got their citizenship papers and learned English. Started up a farm, butcher shop, and sub shop. Made their own money, paid their bills, paid their taxes, etc.

Makes me sick how all these illegals are getting social security, welfare, wic, etc. Come here legally, learn English, etc. I have no problem with immigrants, just illegal ones. We need to adopt Mexicos immigration laws.
