Marley is a five month old Green Cheek Conure. I do not know a gender but but for the sake of a pronoun, I will call it a he. He has been eliminating normally, yet it's been bright red because some of the pellets he eats are red. He is fed pellets, seeds, with apples and grapes. When I uncovered him and let him out this morning he did his "out of cage morning elimination", yet it was much smaller, not red, and he gave a weak chirp whilst he did so. He didn't seem to poop as much, and he seemed to strain once by moving his tail up and down, but has since started pooping normally twice (albeit not red). Yet now when he poops, it looks smaller than normal and it's still not red. He's very active and cuddly, and his personality has not changed at all. I'm afraid something may be wrong.

Hi. Are you feeding your green cheek any veggies?
Birds are very good at hiding illness and often their bowel movements are a first indicator of illness. I'm not expert but my advice would be to call your avian vet and describe the situation. They should advise you and if needed take your bird in to be seen. Always better to be safe than sorry. Make sure the vet is an avian vet.
I know this isn't much help but it's the best advice I can give in a forum.
