Green Egg Yolks

Yea i have heard of that also, but i dont have anything like that around here. I'm thinking it may be the weed shepards glove since i do let the out to freerange for a couple of hours a day.

That one hen that's doing it. Must be a good weeder.... have you tried to pen her up for a week.. see if her eggs get better?.. That would atleast tell you if it's her diet

Well that's the thing, i don't know which hen it is. I only know which egg has the green yolk, it's pink and has a swirl in it. I've already collected 6 eggs today and none of them have swirll. I know some of my ladies eggs so i know for sure it's not my buff orpingtons or our mixed breed chickens. I'll have to sit out there and watch them all lay to find out which one it is, because i'm really sick of getting these green eggs!

You can get trap nests.. cost money but maybe worth it in your situation
I've never heard of trap nests before but i just looked it up and it looks like an interesting option, Thank you!
what's the result for the float test?
I never thought to do a float test on them since they've always been fresh. Why would i float test them otherwise? What results should i expect if i do?
https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...-egg-yolk-raw-not-boiled-and-fresh-not-rotten I just happened upon this old thread the other day, and your topic reminded me of it. It has happened to others, and they claim to have eaten them with no ill effects. one post talks about how to solve the problem, by what to feed/avoid.
Thank you for that! I actually made a post on reddit's backyardchickens sub and someone sent me that link which was really helpful. At Least i know that other people seem to be having the same problem as me. and now i'm pretty sure that the culprit is a weed called shepards purse or pennycress

if you already know the results you wouldn't do the test in the first place right?

the point of tests is to find out what's going on..

since you got some abnormal color yolk.. and you want to know why?

it's just a suggestion..
