Green Egger Naked Neck Thread

Pics
Yeah that cross should throw all colored eggs.

That happens all the time, the discovery of the wonderful turken personality.  Too bad so many people cant get past their necks to discover it.

Amen. On getting past the neck on them. That to me though wad the most unique part that got me to liking the NN. Green eggs just make them better.

For me it started with one pullet that came from McMurray, had ordered multiples of what I thought were cool breeds but only one turken pullet because I was not sure if I'd like the breed...

Well, now I don't even have any of those other breeds and my flock is almost entirely naked necked, ha!

I saw my first one around age seven or eight ( wild guess I was fairly young). We had went to visit our grandparents ( We lived in Texas at the time) and he had gotten.sone I. And were almost grown my brother and I talked him out of a rooster to take back home with us. Mama wasn't to happy with that decision but daddy allowed it.

He mated with some kf our hens and chicks came along, had this beautiful white chick that grew and grew we had too many roosters from all that hatching do butchering day came and that rooster had to go ( mind you they were old enough to crow nice size on them. When that one got dressed and nana cut into it there were eggs galore that was a crowing hen we had there. Yes we definitely saw that kne growing.

@Kev

This round of chicks that hatched from green eggs, are really naked looking. Not so much on the bib area, they are kind if small but not totally devoid if feathers, but when you turn them in their backs some if them barely have feathers at all I. Each side of the breast area and diwn the inside if their legs. It is this way on mostly the cockerels.
I'm wondering if this would be a good time to add back EE/Ameraucana blood to continue the green eggs. That us if I wanted to keep them going. I'm kind of up in the sitcom making a decision if I want to continue with them.

Didn't get but 1 picture today of one of the chicks hatched from green eggs. I think I only have five of these and looks like only two pullets. This is one of them.

Birchen? Guessing in color.

To be honest I don't really know...

could be birchen plus several genes to make her strongly marked like that..

could be wheaten plus silver plus some genes to make her half pencilled. Wheaten hens usually have a very very light breast though, mostly white and she does not seem to have that..

So.. maybe silver partridge with various genes....

you could easily make a pencilled either campine or rock style or spangled or even laced out of her.
